IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Pamela Denise

Padgett-Floyd

July 21, 1965 – April 29, 2026

Obituary

Pamela Denise Padgett-Floyd, 60, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born on July 21, 1965, in Easton, Maryland, to parents Bo and Patty Padgett.

Pamela’s father was a Chaplain in the Navy; the family moved frequently when she was a child, but considered Greenville, South Carolina her home. Pamela graduated from Lexington High school and went on to attend college at the University of South Carolina.

Pamela was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, something she would spend the rest of her life battling. While the condition caused a severe amount of discomfort, you would have never known it, Pamela fought every single day to enjoy the life she was given. In 1994, she met the love of her life, David Floyd. After a year and half of courtship, the couple married during an intimate ceremony at their home in Greer, SC, on February 6, 1997. Their union was blessed with two sons and a daughter, Drew, Matthew and Cameron.

Pamela loved her family and trips they took together, such as to Costa Rica and Hawaii. She loved to eat out at restaurants. She and David spent time doing yardwork together, traveling, and shopping—giving David the job of bag carrier, which he didn’t mind, because he got to spend time with the woman he loved most in this life.

Pamela’s father was a Methodist Minister, which laid the foundation for her deep faith in the Lord. Pamela and David moved to Waynesville in 2018, so that she could help care for her father, who passed away in 2022. Over the past year, Pamela’s health sadly began to decline, although she never stopped fighting along the way until the moment came at Atrium hospital, when she looked her family in the eyes, and said, “I’m ready to go.” Pamela’s passing leaves behind a deep wound in the hearts of those she loved, but she also leaves behind memories that her family will cherish and find comfort in until they are reunited with her in God’s Kingdom.

Her family extends their tremendous and heartfelt gratitude to Pamela’s care teams at Atrium Health, for treating her with great care and compassion. The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Mark Lessne and Dr. Thomas Pacicco, for the personal care that helped extend Pamela’s life. While it was nothing short of a challenge to say goodbye to Pamela, the family was able to find comfort in knowing she was greatly cared for.

Left to celebrate her life is her spouse of 29 years, David Floyd; children, Drew, Matthew (Rachel), Cameron; grandchildren, Emmet, Lily, and Sophie; her brother, Glen (Karen) Padgett; beloved family member, Frankie Snyder; nieces, Eryn and Lindsay; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bo and Patty Padgett.

A memorial service honoring Pamela’s life, officiated by her cousin, Eddie, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Grace in the Mountains Episcopal Church, 394 N Haywood Street, Waynesville, NC, 28786. Visitation with the family will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. There will be no burial at this time.
