William Clark

William Henry Clark, 81, of Arden passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Weaverville.  A native of Buncombe County, he was son of the late Charles Fredrick Clark, Sr. and Sara Creasman Clark.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Fredrick Clark, Jr.

Mr. Clark served in the US Air Force for four years.  He began his career as a construction supervisor in church buildings with his first church, West Asheville Baptist Church, 39 years ago.  He was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Rhodes Clark; son, Kenneth C. Clark and his wife, Tabatha of Black Mountain; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two nieces, Ashleigh Clark of Charlotte and Cyndee Clark Maxwell of Orlando, FL.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Dr.  A. Willis Gaines officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MANNA Food Bank of Buncombe County, 627 Swannanoa River Road, Asheville, NC 28805.

The care of Mr. Clark has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
