Forth Worth, Texas - Selma McCracken Trantham, age 95, formerly of Canton, North Carolina, died Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Emerald Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fort Worth.
Selma was a native of Haywood County and had resided in Fort Worth for the last seven years. She was the daughter of the late Blake and Mora Justice McCracken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Trantham. Selma was a member of James Chapel Baptist Church.
Selma is survived by two daughters, Wilma Coultes (James) and Sherry Clay, of Fort Worth; three brothers, Doyle McCracken of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Lynden McCracken (Jewel Dee) of Clyde, North Carolina, and Vaughn McCracken (Laurine) of Cherryville, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Selma will be held in September. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Cemetery.
