Canton, SFC Daniel Leverne Smith, 57, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Bill Smith and Flora Dills Jordan and was preceded in death by his stepfather, Darwin Jordan.  Danny loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Danny is survived by his wife of 28 years, Brandi Cayetana Garduce Smith; three sons, Adam, Justin and Chris; three sisters, Patti Singleton (Alan), Suzie and Gina; two brothers, Joey, Steve (Janet) and three grandchildren, Titus, Noah and Addie.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in The Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Garduce officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the NCARNG.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 until Noon prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS  66675.
