Candler – Ruth Carolyn Murphy White, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Aston Park Health Care Center.
Ruth was a native of Buncombe County and a daughter of the late Bronson and Pearl Mehaffey Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank White; a daughter, Sandra White; a brother, Vincent Murphy; and a sister, Ruby Davis.
She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday school and always loved to teach in Bible school in the summer. Ruth loved to work in her flowers and especially her many beautiful roses. She looked forward to the time she would be reunited with her precious husband, Frank, and their only child, Sandra, in heaven. Ruth wrote “I’m thankful for the presence of Jesus and His spirit which has kept me going. I’m thankful for all the people who helped me especially my dear niece, Carolyn and her husband, Eddie, who always helped me when in need. My dear son-in-law, Richard Santangelo, who taught me to love basketball and checked on me often. And also, my wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law who were always there for me. Finally, Dear God, if it could be in Your will please let my precious brother, Paul, and his family live well and have a long and happy life.”
She is survived by a brother, Paul Murphy (Leta) of Morganton.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler with the Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Aston Park Health Care Center who cared for Ruth during the last months of her life.
