Rose Rector

Henderson County formerly of Haywood – Rose Mackey Rector, 98, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Flesher’s of Fairview in Fairview.

Rose was the daughter of the late Haywood and Jessie Corn Mackey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Rector, who died in 1994; a son, Dennis Rector, who died in 2018 and his wife, Sue, in 2015; three brothers, Robert, Larry Gene and Kenneth Mackey.  Rose was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and attended Etowah Baptist Church after moving to Etowah in 1994.  She was a homemaker, gardener, and enjoyed taking trips to Myrtle Beach.  She lived independently well into her early 90’s before requiring assistance.

Rose is survived by two sons, Reverend Michael Rector and wife, Loretta, of Ohio and Larry Rector and wife, Pam, of Etowah; six grandchildren, Scott Rector and wife, Renee, of Ohio, Christy Bailey and husband, J. Michael, of Ohio, Tana Rogers and husband, Mark, of Etowah, Ryan Rector and wife, Jodi, of Etowah, Jennifer Miller and husband, Jeremy, of Georgia and Matthew Rector and wife, Keli, of Georgia; nine great-grandchildren, Eric and Nathan Rector and Christopher Bailey all of Ohio, Ella Rogers, Makenna and Olivia Rector, all of Etowah, Ethan, Colton, Stella and Olivia Rector, all of Georgia; and several great-great-grandchildren which she loved spending time with.

Considering the current public health situation, a private graveside service will be held with the Reverend Brian Henderson of Etowah Baptist Church officiating.
