Waynesville, Ronald Miller, 76, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Mack and Annie Mae Noland Miller.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Opal Miller, who died in 2013; a sister, Minnie Capps Crane; and a stepson, Logan Bumgarner.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He loved to spend  time hunting, fishing and watching TV.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Ronald is survived by two stepdaughters, Jana Sherrill of Waynesville and Sue Painter of Sylva; one stepson, Edward Bumgarner, of Mount Holly; two half-sisters, Frieda Mae Crane and Jean Ann Crane Gibson; one half-brother, Cary Crane; seven grandchildren, Jason Sherrill, Tommy, Logan and John Painter, Susan Campbell, Allen Carr and Shane Bumgarner; several great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Bill "Wilbur" Mathis.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.

The care of Mr. Miller has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
