Robert Satterfield, Jr.

Canton

Salisbury – formerly of Canton- Robert Monroe Satterfield, Jr., 98, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at North Carolina Veterans Home in Salisbury.

He was a son of the late Robert Monroe and Millie Wyatt Satterfield.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Hardin Satterfield, who died in 1987; his second wife, Hazel Warren Satterfield, who died in 2008; three brothers, Elby, Ernest and Aldene Satterfield; and two sisters, Cleo Tulbert and Earlene McKenny.  Robert was a United States Army veteran having served as Corporal/Surgical Technician in World War II.  In 1986, Robert retired from Champion International where he worked for 35 years as an electrician and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Jolly (Jerry) of Mooresville and Jill Wright (Carl) of North Point, Alabama; one son, Craig Satterfield (Janet) of Peoria, Arizona; three step-children, Brenda (Ed) Moore, David and Larry Warren; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Russell, Reverend Byron Wicker and Reverend Becky Wicker officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery followed with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
