Richard Powell

Richard “Ricky” Raymond Powell, 56, of Weaverville passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his residence.  A native of Buncombe County, NC, he was son of the late Judy Ann Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dakota Michael Powell and sister, Kimberly Denise Hensley.

Ricky was self-employed in construction and ever devoted to his work. He was a true “Outdoorsman”, with love of fishing and hunting and loved his time boating at Cherokee Lake.  But mostly he loved time spent spoiling his grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter, Nichole Powell Wallace and her husband, Hunter of Leicester; brothers, Carroll Powell and his wife, Tracy of Lyman, SC and James Wade Powell of Florida; three grandchildren, Miranda Powell, Amanda Powell and Brianna Jenkins all of Alexander, NC; daughter-in-law, Jessica Parham; special friends, Becky Phillips and Cindy and his lifetime friend, Tammy Wells.

The care of Mr. Powell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
