Rebecca Mcdowell

Canton – Sarah Rebecca “Becca” Roberts McDowell, 71, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at her residence.

Becca was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Floyd Melvin “Flossie” and Polly Liner Roberts.  She was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles Ray McDowell; two sons, Matthew McDowell (Misty) and Benjamin McDowell (Alison) all of Canton; three sisters, Ricki Jackson, Debbie Jenkins (Keith), and Donna Wood (Mike); and three grandchildren, Blake Fadler, Jake McDowell, and Carly McDowell.

Becca found joy in creating a beautiful home, spending time outside with her flowers and garden, crafting, but most of all, her greatest love and joy was her family. She made all feel welcomed. Along with her husband, Charles, they enjoyed traveling to the beach with friends. Becca brought love, care, and help to so many.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
