RAY HANNAH Waynesville-Ray Hannah, age 73, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at the home of his son on Medford Hannah Road. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late David Carson Hannah and Mamie Leatherwood Hannah. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gail Gibson Hannah who died in 2002 and a brother, Grady Hannah. He was an army veteran and a member of VFW Post 5202. He retired from Dayco in 1976 after 20 years employment. He is survived by two sons, Scott Hannah and his wife Denise, and Johnny Hannah and his wife, Jane, both of Waynesville; a daughter, Sally Hannah, of Waynesville; one sister, Betty McElroy and her husband, Jim, of Pasadena, TX; two brothers, Jack Hannah and his wife, Jeanette, of Waynesville, and Leroy Hannah and his wife, Shirley of Clyde; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two step grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Tony Burnette and Reverend Jerry Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Cindy Ridge Cemetery in the Sutton Town Community. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Moody, James Conard, Jerry Morrow, Ray Wyatt, John Crane, and Bob Palmer. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
