Norma Fox

November 28, 1943 — March 15, 2020

Asheville – Norma Faith Rollins Fox, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 15, 2020.

Norma was a native of Buncombe County, with a previous residence in Canton for 21 years. She was the daughter of the late Stewart Lewis and Mabel Mae Rollins.  In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, David Hamilton Fox, who passed away in 1990; the love of her life, Robert Louie Summey; and one sister Sharon Elkins.

Norma was a full-time amazing mother and mamaw.  A loving mother to five children, Norma spent much of her days running from one event to the next with her kids.  Some of her favorite times with the family were in the summer.  For two weeks the whole family would pack up and head to the campground at Lake James.  In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Andy Griffith and the Golden Girls. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Norma is survived by three daughters, Deborah Price, and husband, Gary, of Weaverville, Melisa Fox, of Leicester, and Angie Chee, and husband, Conrad of Winston-Salem; two sons, Ricky Fox, and wife, Cindy, of Marshall and David “Tim” Fox, of Leicester; two sisters, Joy Clark, and husband Junior, of Asheville and Sue Toune, of Asheville; two brothers, Lewis Rollins, and wife, Gina, of Asheville and Stan Rollins, and wife, Dondra, of Georgia; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A committal service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
