Nancy Bartucca

Waynesville – Nancy Lee Arndt Bartucca, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

Nancy was a native of Waterloo, New York but made her way to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, in 2004.  She was the daughter of the late Martin and Jean Arndt; in addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Scott Bartucca, who passed away in 2008; a daughter-in-law, Angela Agostini-Bartucca; one brother, Bubbie Arndt and her sister, Sally Mazzoli.

Nancy was selfless in her daily life.  Whether it was supporting her children’s little league baseball team or serving as Team Mom; friends and family meant the world to Nancy.  She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother that anyone could ask for.  Nancy was a fantastic cook and she loved to try new recipes.  In Upstate New York, Nancy was a teacher’s assistant and worked for ARC of Seneca County.  When she and Paul, Sr. decided to retire and move to the mountains, Nancy served as a Senior Companion through Mountain Projects.  She developed wonderful relationships with so many of her companions over the years and was truly blessed by their friendships.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul Bartucca, Sr., of Waynesville; two sons, Paul Bartucca, Jr., of Waynesville and Michael Bartucca and wife, Diana, of Norwell, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren, Nathan, Eric, Ethan, Jamen, and Maya.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesville.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
