Mozella Brown

Canton – Mozella Pressley Brown, 98, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

Mozella was the last child of the late Rufus Nelson and Margaret Mae Leatherwood Pressley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, George L. Brown; five brothers, Denver, Jennings, Edgar, Joe, and C.J. Pressley; and one sister, Bobbie Styles.

Mozella was a dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church serving in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, WMU Prayer Chairman, Custodian, and pianist along with her son leading the choir and daughter as organist.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Brown; one son, Keith Brown (Linda); three granddaughters, Tammie, Crystal, and Candace; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Levi, Alysea, Tristin, Jace, and Lane; one sister-in-law, Mary Helen Pressley; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Clark and Reverend Jeremy Cagle officiating.  Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carroll Russell, Jim Taylor, Nicholas Phillips, Levi Cagle, Charles Wyatt, and Ryan Riddle.

In honor of Mrs. Brown, donations may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 483 Sunset Circle, Canton, NC  28716.
