Merry Jo Lowe

Lake Junaluska, Merry Jo Harrison Lowe, age 86, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Born in Clio Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Lillian Leath Harrison.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bud" Lowe who died in 2013; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Joe Ferranti; her aunts and uncles, Helen and Earl Peirson; and Aurilla and Lee Steele, and Michael Harrison; and maternal grandmother, Bernice Aurilla Kibby.

Merry Jo moved to Haywood County in 1953, she was a former realtor and legal secretary for Zeb Alley and Chip Killian and had a lengthy career as a paralegal and liked the fast pace of working in a law office.  Skilled at interior decorating, she also enjoyed crewel needlepoint, singing, and watching tv.  She was an avid reader and a skilled artist.  Merry Jo sang often and beautifully without inhibition.  She was thoughtful, patient, generous and gentle with a youthful spirit.  Merry Jo was the kindest and most loving person one could know and deeply enriched the lives of those who knew her.  Being with her cat companion, Bella, brought her lots of joy.

Merry Jo is survived by her dear daughter, Patra Ann Lowe, and her husband, Bruce Kemp-Claytor; her brother, David Leath (Sandy); three grandchildren, Merry Heather Constante (life partner, Robert), Kenneth Robert "Kenny Bob" Constante (Stephanie), and Shane "Ty" Constante (Laura Wilmes); four great-grandchildren, Roger Louis Constante, Alex "Mags" Grasty, Henry Tate Constante, and Clarence Beauford "Bud" Constante; and special niece, Sandra Horton.

A Celebration of Life, gathering for family and loved ones will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Wells Events & Reception Center.

The care of Mrs. Lowe has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
