Clyde, Mary Elizabeth Morgan Skidmore, age 78, entered into the arms of the Heavenly Angels on the afternoon of Saturday, February 22, 2020.

Mary was born in Buncombe County to the late Turner Marcell and Sarah Lyons Morgan on January 17, 1942.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley T. Skidmore; a sister, Arvella Dupree; and three brothers, Charles Ray, TM and Dallas Morgan.  Mary was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She raised and nurtured four children and four grandchildren.  Mary was an earthly angel, always caring for others and taking care of the needs of others.  If she could help anyone in any way she did, never reflecting on anything in return.  Mary was a devoted Christian constantly Praising the Lord and served as the choir director for Thickety Baptist Church.  She enjoyed camping, traveling and working in her flower gardens.

Mary is survived by four children, Joyce Moody, Ken Trantham, Tamra Diaz and Carolyn Hall; a special son-in-law, Dario Diaz, Jr., who she constantly ask for; brother, David Morgan; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; Terry Mauck, who was her caregiver and like a son to her; and her little dog Oakley who she loved like a child.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be announced at a later date.

The care of Mrs. Skidmore has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
