Canton – Linda Holden Morgan, 86, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her home with family by her side.
Linda was a resident of Haywood County and was born in Jackson County on September 17, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Lyndon and Hester Watson Holden. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Brown; and sister-in-law, Jean Holden.
She retired from Western Carolina University after 19 years of service where she worked as a custodian. She loved crafts, card games and coloring, and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Linda is survived by two daughters, Clydette Burke and her husband, David, of Canton, and Pauline White and her husband, Scott, of Oviedo, Florida; son-in-law, Brian Brown of Deltona, Florida; two sisters, Jean Blanton and her husband, Roland of Penrose, and Loretha Ubel and her husband, Stephen, of Alcolu, South Carolina; one brother, Taylor Holden, of Lenoir; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four nephews; two nieces; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton with Reverend Dr. Daniel Page officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Memorial Park in Sylva.
Due to Covid-19, all protocols and mandates are requested to be followed, including mask. The service will be live streamed and will be accessible through Mrs. Morgan’s obituary on Wells Funeral Home website to facilitate the ongoing focus on community safety and health.
