Lillian Figueroa

Maggie Valley, Lillian Sanabria Figueroa, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at John Keever Solace Center.

A native of New York, she was the daughter of the late Gumersindo and Carmen Davila Sanabria.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Inocencio Victor Figueroa, who passed away in 2006; and her daughter, Judy Pedraza.  Lillian was a woman who loved and was loved dearly.  In her professional life, she possessed an uncompromising work ethic.  As a mother and wife, she was protective, selfless and kind.  Moving to Haywood County in 2009, she was drawn to beautiful mountains.  Lillian quickly adjusted to the area and began volunteering at Maggie Valley Rehab as well as Haywood Regional Medical Center.  She was not none to cook a great deal, but when she did, it was excellent.  Lillian was a matriarch, and a woman who will be greatly missed by so many.

Lillian is survived by one daughter, Georgianna Figueroa Dollar, and her husband, Robert, of Alabama; one son, Brian Figueroa, of Maggie Valley; two sisters, Margaret Sanabria Lang, and her husband, John, of Puerto Rico and Judith Eaddy, of Waynesville; seven grandchildren, Sabriana, Caleb, Marlena, Rebecca, Diego, Veronica, and Shawn; and eight great-grandchildren.

A time to Visit and Remember Lillian will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville.

A time to Visit and Remember Lillian will also take place from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Thomas C. Montera Inc. Funeral Home, 1848 Westchester Ave., The Bronx, NY 10472.  Burial will take place Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Lawn Memorial Park and Arboretum at 2030 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 11735.
