Joyce Harkins

Canton – Audrey Joyce Singleton Harkins, 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Joyce, a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, was the daughter of the late Jim and Mary Chambers Singleton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Harkins, who died in 1995 and a son, Donald Bruce Harkins, who died in 2002.  Joyce was a 1949 graduate of Bethel High School and a member of West Canton Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Russell and her husband, David, of Waynesville.

Considering the current public health situation, a private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Community Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 154 Kelly Springs Road, Waynesville, NC  28786.
