Joann Mintz

Clyde, Joann “Katherine” Mintz, 79, passed away peacefully at Haywood Regional Medical Center on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Katherine was the daughter of the late Claude and Pearl James Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mintz, who passed away in 1996; a son, Bobby Mintz; three sisters; and nine brothers.

Katherine was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was a member of Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed word searches, reading her bible, attending church and listening to gospel music. Katherine was a devoted Granny and wife of 38 years. She will be greatly missed.

Katherine is survived by a daughter, Judy Mintz, and her partner, Josh Ladet; and three sons,  David, and his wife, Cyndi, Lydell, and his wife, Natosha, and Ricky, and his wife, Mary Jo; and a sister, Jincie Green Lee; ten grandchildren, RJ Mintz, Beth Ladet, Jacob Mintz, Katie Mintz, Rachel Mintz, David Ladet, Rhylie Ladet, Isaiah Mintz, Karson Mintz and Spenser Ledford; and one great-grandchild, Atlas Haney; and honorary daughter, Sharon Robinson.

Serving as Pall Bearers for Mrs. Mintz will be Jacob Mintz, David Ladet, Phil Messer, Rocky Lee, Josh Ladet, and Darrell Barnette. Honorary Pall Bearer will be Isaiah Mintz.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with The Reverend Raymond Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
