James Wayne Trull

James “Jim” Wayne Trull, 98, of Candler passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Canton, NC, he was the son of the late Edward Faraday and Elsie Rogers Trull. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Thomason and Mary Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Benny Young and brothers, Carroll Trull (Betty, Nellie and Bert) and William Trull (Ina and Ann).

Jim proudly served in the US Navy during WWII.  Following his military service, he was employed with Champion International for 35 years.  He was a member of Frances Asbury United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Annie “Nellie” Laney Trull; daughter, Rita Hall of Fletcher; son, Randy Trull and his partner, Carole of Newport, TN; sister, Ruth Young of Clyde; brother-in-law, Frank Thomason; four grandchildren, Rhonda Fuller (Kent), Sterling Trull, Jeri Trull and Josie Ballew (Drew Priode) and two great-grandchildren, Logan Ellingwood and Hunter Ellingwood (Chloe).

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Wells Chapel of Faith with Reverend Avery White officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
