Canton – Jacqueline Jeanne Bailey Stamey, 87, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at her residence.

Jackie was a daughter of the late Clyde and Jeanne Hadley Bailey and born in East St. Louis, Illinois and raised in Lake Port, Florida.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde E. Bailey.  Jackie was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodists Women.  She also loved to crochet, sew and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harry Lee Stamey, Jr.; three daughters, Brenda Guest and husband, Dr. William Guest of Tifton, Georgia, Jeannie Haney and husband, Danny, of Clyde, and Harriet Townsend and husband, Howard, of Canton; one son, Greg Stamey and wife, Donna, of Canton; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Clyde Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Roy Watkins, Reverend Mike Leatherwood and Reverend Randy Tingle officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
