Hilda Boone

Clyde – Hilda Newman Boone, 97, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Solace Center of Asheville.

Hilda was a daughter of the late Fred and Sarah Harris Newman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Osborne Boone, who died in 2004; siblings, Edith Rhodes, Evelyn Clark, Ersie Allen, Katy Hamlett, Jim Newman, and Ernest Newman; and son-in-law, Ronnie Sprinkle.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Sprinkle and Lynn Pressley (Mike), all of Canton; grandchildren, Page Truesdale, Amy Lowery, Carrie Thomason, Dolly Pressley Byrd, and Jeremy Pressley: great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Truesdale, Jake and Chandler Lowery, Louci, Lila, Sarah, and Shepherd Thomason, Ellery and Evan Byrd, Jones and Freddie Pressley.  Hilda was blessed and embraced by many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Hilda was a long-time member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church and the Ladies’ Circle Group.  She enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and cooking for her family, especially Sunday family dinners.  Most of all she treasured spending time with her family.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Haywood Lodge for their loving care over the past four years and to her dear friend, Francis Green, for her faithful weekly visits.
