Herman Britt, Jr.

Sylva, Herman Harold Britt, Jr., age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at The Hermitage Assisted Living in Sylva.

A native of Buncombe County, Herman was the son of the late Herman Harold Britt, Sr. and Bonnie Ingle Britt.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Britt, who passed away in 2003 and a great-granddaughter.  Herman was a carpenter and enjoyed making hand crafted furniture in Gaffney, SC.

Herman is survived by his wife of two years, Lillian Britt; two daughters, Patsy B. Shank of Waynesville and Pamela Hensley and her husband, Sammy, of Asheville; one son, Shane Herman Britt of Hendersonville; a sister, Joan Trexler; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held.

The care of Mr. Britt has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
