Helen Inman

Waynesville

Waynesville, Helen Louise Conner Inman, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her home.

A native of Jackson County and lifelong resident of Haywood County, Helen was a daughter of the late John and Evia Reece Conner.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Isabelle Norris and Leona Smith; three brothers, Floyd Conner, Clyde Conner and Junior Conner; one son-in-law, David Davis; one brother-in-law, J.B. Smith; one sister-in-law, Anne Conner; seven nephews, Mark Smith, David Smith, Keith Conner, Robbie Conner, Jack Reece, Little George Conner and Steve Fowler.

Helen loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed tending to her garden.  She was a member of Balsam Missionary Baptist Church and attended Camp Branch Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Riley Lewis Inman, Sr.; three daughters, Phyllis Hord and her husband, James, Sandra Davis, and Symantha Inman, all of Waynesville; three sons, Lewis Inman, Melvin Inman and his wife, Terena, and Nik Inman and his wife, Destiny, all of Waynesville; one sister, Ella Mae May of Waynesville; three brothers, Lloyd Conner of Balsam, Troy Conner of Asheville, and Raymond Conner of Hendersonville; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Balsam Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Greg Cullen and Reverend George Dewitt officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 12:00 until 1:00, at the church.  Burial will be in Balsam Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pall bearers will be Nik Inman, Lewis Inman, Melvin Inman, Adam Davis, Jimmy Hord and Steven Hord.
