Canton – Harry DeWayne Clark, 77, of the Northridge Community passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at his residence.

A native ad lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James and Nina Burress Clark.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Thomas Stiles; a son, James Tony Thomas; and a sister, Argyle “Toppie” DePanfelis.  He retired from Haywood Regional Medical Center in 2004 with 28 years of service and was a United States Army veteran having served in Germany.  Harry was a member of Truth Baptist Church and was a man of great faith and a wonderful family man.  Harry enjoyed fishing and woodworking when he was able.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jessie Early Clark; a daughter, Lynda Clark of New Mexico; a son, DeWayne Clark of Prosperity, South Carolina; a son-in-law, Kenneth Stiles of Canton, two brothers-in-law, Leon Early (Vicki), and Buddy Early (Virginia); nine grandchildren, Michael Elkins (Joni), Jordan Rogers, Chris Rogers, Free Thomas, Zayne Thomas, Kandyce Downs, Joe Johnson, Jaime Bogaert and Zackery Stiles; and two great-grandchildren, Jadeyn Elkins and Brayden Rogers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
