Waynesville, Florence "Kay" Lakatos Inman, age 88, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Autumn Care Nursing Home.
A native of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Joseph George and Mary C. Breit Lakatos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Scratch" Inman; and three sisters. Kay proudly served her country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a PFC in the Women’s Army Corp.-Military Hospital. She was a long-time member of Ninevah Baptist Church, she was baptized September 14, 1969. Kay retired with 32 years of faithful employment with Dayco Corporation. She was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was active in the Golden Girls Club at Ninevah Baptist Church. Kay enjoyed crocheting afghans and scrubbies for her family and friends.
Kay is survived by a daughter, Teresa Wyatt, and her husband, David, of Valdese, North Carolina; son, Larry Inman, and his wife, Shanna, of Waynesville; brother, Joseph Lakatos, and his wife, Fran, of Florida; three grandchildren, Cindy Becton, and her husband, Billy, Jennifer Whisnant and Brannon Inman, and his wife, Rachael; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Matthew, Jenna and Brooke; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Channing.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Ninevah Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
