Emmie Piegorsch

Emmie Piegorsch, 97, of Candler, NC passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Templin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Marta Roland. She married Walter Piegorsch in 1946. They came to the U.S. in 1951. She worked for 20 years for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Scarsdale, NY. After her retirement she moved to Candler, NC.

Emmie is survived by her son Wolfgang (Carol) Piegorsch of Tyngsborough, MA and her son Walter (Karen) Piegorsch of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Weylin (Marie) Piegorsch of Northbridge, MA, Jessica Piegorsch of Nashua, NH, and Walkerius (Ebyon) Logos of Tyngsborough, MA; and three great-grand children, Wyatt Piegorsch, Evelyn Piegorsch, and Micah Hayes.

Emmie loved her family, working with her flowers, and loved music. She sang in the church choir and enjoyed hiking and other outings with her friends.

She came to the mountains of North Carolina that she loved so much for her retirement and now, for her Eternal Rest. She was happy there, and with her happy outlook, spread joy around her. We will miss her smile.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Pisgah Manor for their loving care and attention for the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church choir fund of the Asheville North Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
