Dorothy Muse Jenkins Sharp

Waynesville, Dorothy Muse Jenkins Sharp, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.

She was a native of Haywood County most of her life and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lucille Chambers Muse.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph William Jenkins and her second husband, Don Sharp.  In her working career she was employed in apartment sales in Charlotte and also was a former employee of Wellco Corporation and Hometrust Bank.  Prior to residing at Silver Bluff, she resided at The Laurel’s in Waynesville where she derived much pleasure in assisting and helping other residents.  She also loved to take long walks while living in Charlotte and at Lake Junaluska.  Dorothy also loved to cook.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin Perotta, and her husband, Butch, of Matthews, NC and Ramona Hicks, and her husband, Walter, of Hayden Lakes, Idaho; one son, Bill Jenkins, and his wife, Laura, of Candler; and four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with her son Bill Jenkins officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
