Dixie Lee Kidwell

Canton – Dixie Lee Kidwell, 69, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Mission Memorial Campus.

Dixie was a native of Ohio and a daughter of the late John Leland and Joan Alcorn Kidwell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike, and Larry Lee Kidwell.  Dixie had the heart of a hippie, the soul of a gypsy and a kind nature not often seen in this world.  The strength she embodied is hard to put into words but enabled her to endure a lifetime of adversity.  She loved doing crafts, wreaths, jewelry boxes, dream catchers, and so much more.  Dixie absolutely loved animals and nature, she thoroughly enjoyed nature.  She was also interested in genealogy research and tracing her family history.  Dixie was very spiritual and studied many religious traditions, she most loved Native American religion and had great respect for her ancestors.  But above all, she treasured her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Amanda Fox and her husband, Chris of Canton; three sisters, Beth Todd, Jamie King, and Bonnie Lou Mahaffey and her husband, Bobby all of Ohio; one brother, Tommy Kidwell of Ohio; three grandchildren, Shayna Chapman and her husband, Mike, Seth Isaac Rigdon, Morgan Findley, and Serenity Lee Fox; two great-grandchildren, Michael Chapman, Jr., and Paris Noelle Rigdon; and her beloved cat, Witcher.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
