David Teague

April 2, 1937 — June 13, 2011

Maggie Valley, Pastor Charles David Teague, age 74, of 472 Julia Lane, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Paul and Annie Wyatt Teague and was also preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Harris. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church He is survived by his spouse, Betty Teague; two daughters, Barbara Fowler and her husband, Wynn, and Debbie Garrett and her husband, Charles, of Clyde; one son, Ricky Teague and his wife, Kim, of Maggie Valley; five sisters, Lois Lynn and her husband, Ray, and Phyllis Grimes and her husband, Allen, all of Lakeland Florida; Sue Fletcher and her husband, Tommy, of Auburndale, Florida, Carolyn Evans and her husband, Wesley, of Graceville, Florida, and Brenda Mitchell of Asheville; one brother, Kenneth Teague and his wife, Nancy, of Canton; eight grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Darren Reeves, Reverend Jack Jaynes, and Reverend Dennis Grahl officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Justin Fowler, Kris, Matthew, Jeremy, and Hunter Garrett, Joshlyn and Ryan Teague, and Michael Evans. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
