Billy "Little Red" Nichols

Waynesville, Billy “Little Red” Nichols, 66, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Haywood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Edith Rhinehart Nichols and the late Jake Nichols.  In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Cheryl Rhinehart and Karen Sutton.  Billy was an employee of Dayco, Inc. for 17 years and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  He was also member of VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47.

In addition to his mother, Billy is survived by a daughter, Heather Jones (Tony) of Cherryville; a brother, Darrell Nichols (Janet), of Waynesville; three grandchildren; special friends, Darin Buchanan, Larry Lyda, Jackie Worley and Jerrie Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville followed by a time of sharing with Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating.
