Betty Shore

Waynesville, Betty Bethea Shore, 91, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at her residence.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, she was born March 19, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Linton Stephens Bethea and Elizabeth Williamson Bethea.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Butler Shore and grandson Clay Shore.  Betty was a homemaker who raised three children and was active in the community and church.  After marriage, she lived in Houston and Friendswood, Texas, upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to Waynesville, where she resided for 31 years.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Kay Shore, of Greensboro, North Carolina; two sons, Steve Shore, and his wife, Soozie, of Greeneville, Tennessee and Mike Shore, and his wife Paula, of Louisville, Colorado; three grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held sometime this summer at Grace Church in the Mountains Episcopal Church.

The care of Mrs. Shore has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.  Arrangements will be announced as they become available.
