Barbara Pressley

Center Pigeon Community – Barbara Jean Burnett Pressley, age 83, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late James Edgar and Amelia Ruth Burnett.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Pressley, who died in 2005; and one brother, Ray Burnett.

Barbara was a graduate of Bethel High School.  She was a self-employed trucker driving cross-country for over 35 years.  She and Delmer also owned and operated Pressley’s Upholstery Shop.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Allan Pressley and his wife, Rhonda, of Canton and Ronald Pressley and his wife, Shirley, of Clyde; one sister, Winfred Warren, of Lake Logan; five grandchildren, David Pressley, Paul Pressley, Missy Davenport, Amber Poss and Sandy Poss; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Doug Henson officiating.
