Alfreda Wilson

Denver – Eunice Alfreda Swanger Wilson, 76, formerly of Canton passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Novant Health in Huntersville, NC.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Towe Swanger.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Wilson, Sr. who died in 1998.  Freda faithfully attended the Lincolnton Church of God.  She enjoyed listening to gospel music.  Her ministry was purchasing Bibles monthly to be distributed around the world.  She witnessed to everyone she met.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Barnwell of Hendersonville, Sonya Clough and husband, Otis, of Dallas and Andrea Reel and husband, Chris, of Denver; two sons, Charles Ray Wilson, Jr. of Canton and Ken Wilson, Sr. of Gastonia; two sisters, Mildred McCarter and husband, Johnny, of Canton and Darlene Rogers of Canton; a brother, Danny Swanger and wife, Penny, of Canton; eleven grandchildren, Austin Barnwell, Josh Barnwell and wife, Carol, Brittany Wilson, Bethany Clough, Ken Wilson, Jr., Jeff Clough, Courtney Wilson, Kayley Clough, Ashley Barnwell, Jacob Clough and Sophia Reel; four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Cadian Grant, Lochlan Barnwell and Ezra Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Richard King and Reverend Dr. Otis Clough officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
