Zeda Mae Trull Stepp, 79, of Canton, went to be home with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026. 

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Eva Mae Cogburn Trull. For over 10 years she had a route with the Mountaineer and was a longtime member of East Fork Baptist Church. Her family will always remember her as always being there for them, being her sons’ #1 fan and cheering them on at their sporting events and supporting them all in every way. A wonderful, selfless mother and provider, she loved spending time with her family as well as watching NASCAR and old Westerns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ira “Cooter” Joseph Stepp in 2000.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Chasity) Stepp and Tim (Rhonda) Stepp; brother, Charles (Ninno) Trull; grandchildren, Mason, Anna Rose, Nicolas, Noah, Jordan, Taylor, Josh, Blake, and Mattie and 4 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Wells Funeral Home Canton from 11:00am until 12:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Cruso Cemetery on Friday, May 15 at 12:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East Fork Baptist Church, 13175 Cruso Road, Canton, NC 28716.
