Winnie Mann

June 3, 1915 — October 7, 2011

Waynesville, Winnie Mae Mann, age 96, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Taylor and Eva Burnett Mann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie and Blanche and six brothers, James, Marsell, Cecil, George, Bill and David. Winnie retired from American Enka with 32 years' service. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Mann Gibson and her husband, Richard, of Waynesville; a grandson, Douglas Allen Mann and his fiancée, Debbie Arrowood, of Unicoi, Tennessee and two sisters, Frances Mann and Annie Lee Freeman both of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
