WILSYE CALDWELL

Waynesville-Wilsye Ella Trantham Caldwell, age 84, of 282 Caldwell Hollow died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Ervin Trantham and Amanda Suttles Trantham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jarvis Caldwell, who died in 1976; a son, James ''Lucky'' Caldwell; a grandson; a granddaughter; five brothers; and five sisters. She loved flowers, gardening, crafts, and sewing. She attended Maggie Valley First Baptist Church.

She is survived by six daughters, Maggie Cagle and her husband, Charles ''Dude,'' Sue Gentry, Hazel Rich and her husband, Frank, all of Maggie Valley, Wilma Jones, and special friend, Doug Thompson, of Canton, Barbara Cagle and her husband, Garland, and Nellie Morrow and her husband, Jerry, both of Waynesville; a sister, Hazel Robbins of Vineland, New Jersey; one brother, Floyd Trantham, of Maggie Valley; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Millard Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Carver, Jamie Rich, Joe Jones, Terry Morrow, Mike Morrow, Darren Cagle, Chris Jones, and Justin Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Caldwell, Glenn Rich, Stokey Caldwell, Doug West, Steven Cagle, and Andrew Carver. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of Mrs. Caldwell, 282 Caldwell Hollow, Maggie Valley, NC.
