William "Stan" Hartman

Waynesville, William Stanley Hartman, age 48, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at UNC Chapel Hill.

Born in Florida and a life-long resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Nelson and Jean Ann Hubbell Hartman. Stan was an employee of Performance Food Group for 4 years. He was the former owner of local restaurant Garlic Knots and Maggie Valley Pizzeria for 12 years. Stan lived an adventurous life filled with laughter. He loved music, cooking, boating, fishing, the beach and riding his side by side. Most importantly his happiest moments were spent making memories with his family and friends.

Stan is survived by the mother of his children, Carrie Hartman; three daughters, Hayley Hartman, of Asheville, Kennedy and Reese Hartman, both of Waynesville; sister, Holly Hartman, of Waynesville; brother, David Hartman, and his wife, Jeri, of Cape Canaveral, Florida; nieces and nephews; and his friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Asheville Firefighters Camp on 227 Clayton Rd, Arden, NC 28704. If you have any kind words or photos of Stan for the celebration slideshow, you can email the family at “thehartmans72@gmail.com”.
