William "Billy" Nicholson, Jr.

Maggie Valley, William "Billy" Adams Nicholson, Jr., age 66, passed away after a short period of declining health on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Manhasset, New York, he was a son of the late William Adams Nicholson, Sr. and Gladys Reardon Nicholson.

Billy was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed being active and counted on.  For many years he worked for Clear View Glass & Mirror and First Church Baptist of Waynesville.  In his younger years, he reveled in outdoor activities like swimming, watersports, ice skating, and snowmobiling.  Billy enjoyed making friends and was a wonderful caretaker to his family.  His habit of regularly bringing his wife fresh-cut flowers "just because" illustrates what a sweetheart he was.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Helen Shikarides Nicholson; dear daughter, Alexis Milas; three sisters, Kathy Santachas, Nikki Durand, and Delia Hoebel; and brother, Fredrick Nicholson.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home.
