William Thomas Greene, “W.T.” age 74, of Clyde, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2026, following a short but courageous battle.

Born on July 26, 1951, in Haywood County, North Carolina, William was the son of the late Boyce Tillman Greene, Sr. and Freda Trull Greene. A lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was well known and loved by many.

W. T. was a proud Army Veteran and loved being able to serve his country. He worked in the Well Drilling profession with his family, operating Greene Brothers Well & Pump. W.T. was known as a hardworking and intelligent businessman. Outside of work, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time at the lake with friends, and living life to the fullest. He was often described as “the life of the party,” someone who brought laughter, stories, and energy wherever he went.

In addition to his parents, W.T. was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Boyce Greene.

He is survived by his two sons, Travis Greene (Madi) and Bryan Greene (Christy); one grandson, Tillman Greene; his sisters, Retha Dale Pace and JoAnn Greene; brother, B.T. Greene; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Saturday, February 7th, at 6:00 at Chestnut Ridge Venue in Dutch Cove.
