William Shelton

Asheville, William Thomas "Will" Shelton, age 67, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his residence.

A native of Detroit, Michigan he was the son of the late Carson and Katherine Clark Shelton. He spent most of his life in Asheville, North Carolina, Tucson, Arizona and Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Wilson. Will proudly served his county in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB from 1971 to 1975. Later, he managed resort hotels and properties across Arizona and in Mobile, Alabama and retired from the Sara Lee Corporation in 2008. Will loved to garden, cook, stargaze, hike, watch baseball, play guitar, golf and chat with everyone. He had an unrivaled ability to make friends everywhere he went and a desire for knowledge that never ceased.

Will is survived by a son, Tyler J. Shelton; sister, Shirley Shelton, of Asheville; aunt, Linda Woodberry, and her husband, Bill, of Johnsonville, South Carolina.
