Wayne "Fuzzy" Smith

Maggie Valley, Daniel Wayne Smith, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Mission Memorial Campus.

A native of Robeson County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Galloway Smith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Smith; two sisters; and two brothers.  Wayne owned Fuzzy’s Bait & Tackle in Maggie Valley and was a former owner of Smith Glass & Repairs in North Myrtle Beach.  He enjoyed talking and meeting people.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Faye Hobbs Smith; two daughters, Sheri Mason (Logan) and Sierra Vasquez (Edgar); two sons, William Smith (Bobby Jo) and Joseph Griggs; two sisters, Florine Efird (Gene) and Midget Johnson (Ronnie); brother Jimmy Smith; and six grandchildren, Tiffany and Allison Smith, Leola and Logan Mason, Andrea and Christopher Vasquez.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
