WAYNE BROWN

Canton-Wayne Ray Brown, age 59, of Little East Fork Road, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the Mamie Caldwell Brown of Canton and the late Bartley E. Brown. He was a US Army veteran and was employed by Carotel Paper Company in Greer, SC for 20 years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Donna Stover of Largo, Florida; two sisters, Lillian Chambers and her husband, Wilson, of Waynesville and Clara Jean Howell of Canton; two brothers, Charles E. Brown, and his wife, Elaine, and Eddie M. Brown, both of Canton; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Ted Reeves officiating. Interment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2002 in the Inman Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Brown, Steve Brown, Todd Chambers, Randy Howell, Kirby Howell, and Jimmy Smathers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
