Wanda Mann

Canton – Mary Wanda Melton Mann, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Wilson and Geneva Eavenson Melton.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Mann who died in September 2019; and a daughter Mary Lynn Stark.  Wanda was a longtime member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church and was active in the church choir where singing had a cherished place in her life.  She was an active supporter of several charitable organizations.

She is survived by a stepson, Jeff Mann and his wife, Brenda Mann, of Canton; three sisters, Linda Sue Melton Garris; Jeanette Melton Hill and Carol Elaine Melton Perkins; three grandchildren, Jake Mann and his wife, Rachel Vincent Mann and Charmayne Mann; three great-grandchildren; Orion and Atlas Mann and Laila Hicks; nieces and nephews, Linda Sue Collins Wood and her husband, Luther Thomas Wood, Lisa Ann Collins and Ryan King; great nieces and great nephews, Ashley Nicole Wood Edwards and her husband, Andrew Edwards, Christopher Thomas Wood and his wife, Jennifer Moore Wood and Ian Jamison King; and two great-great nephews; Ethan Graham Edwards and Cooper Thomas Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Beaverdam United Methodist Church with the Reverend Gordon A. Pike officiating.  Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
