Clyde-Walter John Rastrom, age 77, formerly of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed peacefully at Park Ridge Hospital, after a brief illness, to be at home with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. He was a native of New York, and grew up in New Jersey before moving to Lake Worth, Florida. He retired to Haywood County 23 years ago. He was the son of John Francis and Mary Elizabeth Boyle Rastrom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Doris Rastrom, who died in 1994. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed carpenter who owned and operated John's Saw Service in Lake Worth, FL. He enjoyed fishing, antique cars, and woodworking. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Massie and her husband, Keith, of Clyde, Jamie McWatters and her husband, Steve, and Kristine Ross and her husband, Vann, both of Lake Worth, FL; a sister, Dorothy Driscoll, of Lake Worth, FL; seven grandchildren, Jody, Jonathan, and Christopher Ross, Charity and Mitchell Massie, Jenny Arato, and Jill McWatters; and three great grandchildren, Mallory Arato, and Taylor and Dakota Medeiros. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
