Wade Kirkpatrick

Fines Creek, NC, Wade Kirkpatrick, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Born February 14, 1941, he was a lifelong resident of Haywood County.  Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Ola "Faye" Moore Kirkpatrick; a son, Gregory Scott Kirkpatrick; a brother, Hugh Kirkpatrick; and brother-in-law, Cobern Harrison.

Wade was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a member of the Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Hattie Suttles Kirkpatrick; sons, Michael and Steven Kirkpatrick and his wife Nita; sisters, Betty Harrison and Linda Lydeen and her husband Damon; his brother, Ray Kirkpatrick and his wife Marcia; eight grandchildren, Harlee, Makina, Bayli, Ethan, Samantha, Jessica, Boyd and Ava; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph, and Olivia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Wells Chapel in Waynesville, NC, with the Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  A private burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church, 1128 Max Patch Road, Clyde, NC 28721.

The care of Mr. Kirkpatrick has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
