Vivian Coman

Canton – Vivian Sayer Coman, 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her residence.

Vivian was a native of Hart County, Georgia and a daughter of the late Holden Felton and Thelma Smith Sayer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Coman, who died in 1999; a brother, Dan Sayer; and her two precious Dachshunds, “Jake and Scooby”.  Vivian worked as an office administrator at UNC of Asheville for 15 years and retired in 2002.  She was also a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Marcy Scott and son-in-law, Stephen, of Canton and one sister, Carolyn Jackson of Asheville.

At Vivian’s request, no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Animal Welfare Association (HAWA), P.O. Box 992, Waynesville, NC  28786, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
