Virginia Thornhill

December 4, 1932 — September 6, 2002

Canton-Virginia Cline Thornhill-69 of the Lake Logan community died Friday, September 6, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

She was a native and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Albert P. Cline, Sr. She was a nurse with Visiting Health Professionals of Haywood County and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Canton High School and a graduate of Duke University School of Nursing.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Carolyn Thornhill Marth and Charles Foster Marth of Waynesville, one son, Edward Cline Thornhill, Sr. of Canton, one brother, Dr. Albert P. Cline, Jr. and his wife Bebe Medford of Canton, 4 grandchildren, Eliza Katharine Marth, Edward Oliver Marth, Edward Cline Thornhill, Jr. and Patricia Louise Thornhill.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Father Tim McRee and Reverend Dr. Russell Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 9th at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church Building Fund, 99 Academy Street, Canton, N.C. 28716.
