Waynesville – Virginia Ledford Kelly, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2019 at Haywood House Hospice.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Margaret Rathbone Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dennis Kelly who died in 2012. Virginia retired from Dayco with 31 years of service. Virginia loved her Pisgah Bears. Even during her residency at the Haywood House, she continued her support and dedication of the Bears. She loved her times flea marketing and meeting new people. Her special love in life was baking and cooking for others. Virginia touched so many lives with her fun loving nature and passion for making life memorable. Her life was devoted to her daughter and her grandson, Tate.
She is survived by a daughter, Dalene Parker and her husband, Kenny, of Clyde; a sister, Lucy James of Waynesville; a brother, J. C. Ledford of Waynesville; and two grandchildren, Tate Powell and Heath Parker; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
